Kissing Him, Loving You

My lips are kissing his
but my heart lies with you.
My head feels torn in two.
I long to be with you.
Instead I stay for duty,
body chained in place
from obligations too big to climb.
My hearts soars off
stealing away
to dream of moments with you.
With every kiss,
my heart empties,
withering with his foreign care.
I’m becoming a husk
of who I used to be,
without soul,
without passion,
without you.
So I look to you
with heart full of longing,
dying inside
as I kiss another.
